Swoon Thursday (#81): Lark Rising by Sandra Waugh

Swoon Thursday is a hot meme hosted by the fabulous ladies at YA Bound!

- From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering

- Try to make the swoon excerpt 140 characters (or less), if you are going to tweet about it. Use the hashtag #YABOUND when tweeting

This week, my swoon is from Lark Rising by Sandra Waugh!

"Gharain."

"Yes, Lark?"

"I yield," I murmured, and felt his lips take mine.

Sometime later in that night, I felt the sweep of something light against my cheek and then Gharain's lips by my ear. "Lark," he whispered, "I return these to you. I'd kept them, to have something of you near always. But now I have you."

And I turned to him and sought his mouth once more, and he let the feathers brush down my skin before reaching an arm back to tuck them into my sack - these namesakes, and sign,, and summon. This gift.
